The Wedding of Bill and Laura

October 28th, 2009

Bill and Laura’s wedding reception was an afternoon of cutting loose and chattin’ it up.  When the guests weren’t dancing, they were conversing with other.  Everyone seemed to know each other, or at least they did by the end of the day.  The reception started with a classic cocktail hour of Sinatra, Buble, with little twists of Coldplay, Adele, and Jason Mraz.  Then, it was time for the Grand Entrance.   The introductions, set to the Star Wars Emperial March, couldn’t be more appropriate for this couple.  Along with the rest of their wedding party, Bill and Laura played it up then danced their first dance as husband and wife to “The Best of Times” by Styx.  After a terrific dinner catered by the great folks at Canon Ridge Country Club, Bill and Laura decided to start with a couple of slow songs to start the dancing.  From then on, the floor was full of vigor and vitality.  This couple was a lot of fun to work with during the planning process and the day of the reception.  It’s fun to work with such great couples.

The Wedding of Charlie and Abby

October 18th, 2009

Charlie and Abby

How does a dance floor maintain full capacity for hours?! Have a great group of guests who don’t stop for anything!! Charlie and Abby told me they were ready going to have a fun group, and they didn’t disappoint. Fun, Fun, Fun! After a beautiful ceremony, where Abby gave a heartfelt message to her dad, the reception started with a bang. The wedding party made their entrance to “We Got It Going On” by Bon Jovi. After dinner, I shared their Love Story then Charlie and Abby danced to “Soulmate” by Josh Turner. These two truly are soulmates. It is undeniable! The night kept going with more dancing. We even went longer than scheduled because everyone was having a blast! I love this job!

The Wedding of Ben and Amy

Ben and Amy wide

Wow! What a great wedding!!! These two were so much fun. Their family and friends were ready to party from the moment they walked into the reception hall. They were loud and boisterous during the grand entrance and kept that energy going until the very last minute. The dance floor was full for every song. What an evening! What a celebration! What a great couple!!

The Wedding of Jonathan and Samuelle

September 1st, 2009

Now this was an interesting wedding.  Jonathan and Samuelle have a great story.  After meeting one night through Samuelle’s roommate in college, the two were destined to be together.  Casual, athletic, and dedicated to their love for each other, Jonathan and Sam planned a wedding reception that could be considered more of a family reunion than a formal event.  But, by no means could it be confused with anything other than a celebration of love.  From crab pickin’ to Rita’s Italian ice, the guests were treated with some very unique delicacies.  Even the rain couldn’t spoil the outdoor ceremony, as the tunes kept going, the boys serenaded just about every lady in the crowd.  Very funny.

The Wedding of Jereme and Ryen

July 28th, 2009

Jereme and Ryen met when neither of them were truly “looking”.  A little over a year ago, their lives would cross paths and change their future forever.

Perfect for each other doesn’t even touch the surface of describing their love.  Simply watching them together will show you that they couldn’t be happier.

Ryen knew that Jereme was her future husband from very early on.  He couldn’t deny her pursuit, and why would he.  As he put it, “I get goosebumps every time we’re together.”

The ceremony was beautiful at the rolling hills of Rock Hill Plantation on July 25, 2009.  It was personalized and delivered just the right touches of their personalities.  Their reception delivered much of the same, even with the power outage.  A storm knocked out the area power, but the party survived and flourished through the delay and after.  Party, Party, Party!!

The Wedding of Alex and Elizabeth

July 23rd, 2009

Alex and Elizabeth First Dance

Alex and Elizabeth met just a little over a year ago, but these two couldn’t be more perfect for each other.  The love at this reception was like no other.  We were able to create some amazing moments like Elizabeth’s dance with her mom which included a recorded message from her mother, a visit from the local marine mascot Hummer the Bulldog, and a Grand Entrance that brought everyone together in celebration.  Their Love Story was beautiful.  Alex’s proposal was very funny, but touching at the same time because you could tell how much he loves Elizabeth.

The reception “ended” with a fake exit with sparklers, but the party continued for another 2 hours with an afterparty that featured non-stop dancing.  From Earth, Wind, and Fire to Flo Rida to Jason Aldean, the guests danced to everything and anything.  This wedding celebration was extraordinary!

The Wedding of Ryan and Nikki

June 15th, 2009

One would think that a wedding reception inside a state park would be a little odd. Well, yes and no. Ryan and Nikki became husband and wife on Saturday, June 13, 2009. Their reception was held at the Bel Air Mansion inside of Belle Isle State Park. The view was amazing. Although by the end of the night, we all had a difficult time seeing each other, the energy was overwhelming.

The Love Story of Ryan and Nikki began on a mistake. Nikki forgot her cell phone on the way to the beach, but turned around to head home. She ended up at a school function and there HE was. Nikki was smitten. Ryan would astound her with his boyish charm, but would offer her the night in shining armor at nearly the same time. The proposal was sweet and touching on that Valentine’s night of 2008. And this evening, romance was in the air as Ryan and Nikki united, sharing their celebration of love with family and friends.

The Wedding of Gene and Micah

I love my job! I get to celebrate with some of the coolest people in the world. Micah and Gene are no exception. Micah had been planning for this moment for so long, you would have thought it wasn’t even her wedding, she was so calm.

The ceremony was beautiful, overlooking the river, while the reception was just as grand.  TJ’s Catering supplied a delicious feast and I graciously served as the MC for the evening of Saturday, June 6, 2009.

The guests danced all night, even supplying Micah’s grandmother to take the stage for her personal favorite, the Chicken Dance. Even the Italian side of the family danced to the Tarantella.

It was my privilege to be a part of such a family event.
